Fairbanks FSS (FAI) occupied half of this building which faces the airport ramp area. In the late 1980’s, Fairbanks FSS held the record for the highest number of walk-in pilot weather briefings, about 600-800 per month during peak summer traffic. Both the Fairbanks FSS and Fairbanks Tower (far right) structures were connected.
