Dillingham, Alaska
1951.
John Walatka started his own air service out of Dillingham, Alaska in the
1930's.
He was chief pilot of Northern Consolidated Airlines bush fleet. John was
also
instrumental in founding the first sport fishing lodges in Bristol Bay The
Walatka
Mountains, located in Katmai National Park (250 miles SW of Anchorage), are
named after him.
